Free Taping and Posting of Audition Pieces Offered to Actors

Contact:  Jim Terr, www.JimTerr.com

Santa Fe videomaker Jim Terr is offering free videotaping and posting of short audition pieces on-line, for actors in Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

TAPINGS NOW SCHEDULED:

In SANTA FE Saturday, November 15, 1-3 pm at the Holiday Inn, 4048 Cerrillos, close to Rodeo/Airport Rds. (in the "Boardroom")

In ALBUERQUE Sunday, November 16, noon-2 pm at Applause Talent, 136 Washington SE, just south of Central (the old Tricklock space).

Terr says, "Even in my very small role as a director, I am often amazed at how many actors I know - and meet - who do not have any sort of "demo" or audition piece on-line where it can be easily viewed. It seems to me an obvious thing to do, especially since YouTube is free!"

"With that in mind, I am setting up a web site called www.HotReadings.com, where audition pieces will be posted for actors, probably linked to YouTube, so that their acting can be easily seen by interested filmmakers. Whether or when it will be a for-profit site eventually I don't know, but to get it going, I'll be doing FREE VIDEOTAPING AND POSTING of actors' short audition pieces (monologues), in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, probably the weekend of November 15 / 16," Terr says.

Terr asks that interested actors visit the site and contact him via the e-mail link on the site and he'll get back in touch with schedule details. He offers to shoot the first 30 or 35 actors scheduled in Santa Fe, and likewise in Albuquerque. He is also open to suggestions for good taping locations in both cities.

Terr is a frequent YouTube contributor with over 275,000 views on the site, and a perennial filmmaker participant in the Santa Fe Film Festival - with a short film in the festival this year from his www.HollywoodMe.com project.

Q: "Why can't I just do this myself, and post my video on YouTube?"

A: You can, and I think you should. I'm just offering this for those actors who don't seem to be able to get around to it.
