Celebrities Endorse New Mexico Filming, Request Short Promo Videos
Contact: Jim Terr, www.FilmHappens.comSanta Fe, May 7, 2009 - It would be a major publicity coup even if one of the celebrities were not long-deceased, but Santa Fe satirist and video producer Jim Terr has filmed on-camera endorsements of New Mexico’s filmmaking potential, by three major stars.
Keeping in mind the term, “satirist”, Terr presents “celebrities” “Gene Hackman”, “Julia Roberts” and “Natalie Wood” -- portrayed by local actors Yann Lussiez, Lenore Gallegos and Isis Demeter – in a short video called Celebrities endorse New Mexico filming, which is featured on www.YouTube.com and on the website, www.FilmHappens.com Terr put together the website to promote New Mexico as a place where there are so many favorable filming resources – scenery, locations, crew, facilities and skilled actors – that you only have to think of a film idea and “Film Happens!” Sponsors of the site include the Chamber of Commerce and a major hotel in film-active Las Vegas, New Mexico, Terr’s home town. Included in the short promo video are two samples of very short 15-second promos on the theme of “Film Happens”, featuring local actors Alexa Bauer, Fred Baker, Will Arute and Olga Garcia. The “celebrities” in the video promote the submission of more such short videos on the theme to the site, by skilled New Mexico filmmakers. Terr plans to more widely publicize the site after more such short videos are submitted and posted. He points out that these videos will in themselves promote the filmmakers and actors involved. He requests them in 15- or 30-second format so that they might be used as TV spots if the opportunity arises. Terr has over one-third million views on his YouTube channel, so is hopeful of getting wide viewing for the site and the videos, as they are submitted. Details are available at the site, www.FilmHappens.com
