NM School for the Arts Announces Filmmaking Workshop for Teens

July 31, 2009, Santa Fe – New Mexico School for the Arts is offering a film workshop for middle and high school aged youth. Classes will be held Monday, August 17 through Friday, August 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. Interested young artists are invited to apply online at www.nmschoolforthearts.org. The charge for the week is $200 and there are scholarships available to families in need. This workshop is in partnership with Warehouse 21.

Participants will learn about the filmmaking process from start to finish and produce a short video project in this week long film intensive. They will be working with film professionals in workshops on acting for the camera, cinematography, screenwriting, editing and distribution in the process of developing, shooting and editing a group video project.

Faculty include filmmaker and media artist, Deborah Fort, cinematographer, Liza Bambenek, acting coach, Wendy Chapin, and film festival director Stephen Rubin.
