Santa Fe, New Mexico - September 21, 2009 – A film that was created from start to finish by a New Mexico cast and crew will screen at the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood for the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in October of 2009.

“Hunter’s Moon” is a 10-minute short film about a career criminal who takes the woman he loves out to the desert after becoming suspicious of her behavior. Fearing that she has become an informant, he conducts an interrogation that provides him with an answer he would never have predicted.

The film was written and directed by Matt Page, a College of Santa Fe graduate and owner of the Santa Fe-based new media production company Riffraff Entertainment. It was produced in association with James Green’s production company Santa Fe Digital Image Productions.

"It’s so gratifying to see a small film produced locally receiving recognition nationwide," says Page, "The best part of increased big-budget film production in New Mexico is that it has energized the independent filmmaking community as well."

Executive Producer James Green adds “We made this film in order to showcase New Mexico talent both in front of the camera and behind it. Looks like it’s working.”

The film was cast with local actors who have landed some roles in major feature films. You might recognize Christopher Dempsey from the opening scene of “Sunshine Cleaning”, Tait Fletcher from the reality show “The Ultimate Fighter” and Trine Christensen playing opposite Steven Seagal in “The Keeper”.

The crew was comprised of both veterans in the New Mexico film industry and students from the Film Crew Training Program at Santa Fe Community College.

"Partnering on small professional films helps give our students the real life movie set experience they need to succeed," says Monique Anair, lead faculty for the film program.

“Hunter’s Moon” will screen at 5pm on October 17th at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, 6925 Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles, CA 90028.
