WORKFORCE ADVANCEMENT

The New Mexico Film Office’s development training programs, established through the Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) for Film & Multimedia production companies, provides reimbursement funds to (temporary) production companies for the training of New Mexico residents in film and television job positions. Training pertains to industry and production needs as determined by the New Mexico Film Office upon consultations, research, and feedback.

Film Crew Advancement (FCAP)
This is an on-the-job training program intended for New Mexico crew working in primarily advanced, below-the-line job positions and helps assist individuals for continual employment in the NM film industry.  FCAP also serves as an incentive for production companies to create job opportunities for New Mexican film and television crew professionals.  The program provides a 50% reimbursement of qualifying participants’ wages for up to 1040 hours physically worked. Qualifying New Mexicans who are interested in adding a

new skill set or are ready to move to a higher position within their craft department may apply through a participating film or television production.

Pre-employment Training Program (PETP)
PETP is intended to assist in furnishing qualified crew for the NM film and multimedia industry.  The intention of Pre-employment Class Training is to provide reimbursement funds to qualified contractors who facilitate a short-term intensive course, workshop or lecture that primarily relates to a below-the-line film and television craft department. The NM Filmmakers Mentorship Program  (also known as Pre-employment Project Training) is a pilot program providing reimbursement funds to contractors (directly related to a production company’s project) for training in and exposure to primarily above-the-line film and television job positions and other specialized crafts.
