Best Animation: “Slow and Steady”– Director Alan Chee, Albuquerque, TRT 5 min 45 sec. A crotchety old tortoise's peaceful evening is interrupted by an uninvited visitor.
Best Comedy: “Jesse Eisenberg Uses the Urinal” – Director Alec Brown, Santa Fe, TRT 7 min. 53 sec. In this short film Oscar-nominee Jesse Eisenberg might play a captivating know-it-all on the big screen, but there is one thing the talented actor doesn't know- how to use the urinal.
Best Documentary: “21st Century Stone Age” – Director Kirk Loy, Albuquerque, TRT 28 min 30 sec. Since the beginning of human existence we have been converting rocks into the tools and materials we need to live. Simple modifications have evolved into complex technologies. Today virtually everything man-made comes from the rock of earth.
Best Drama Category: “Dead Billy” – Director Scotty Milde, Albuquerque, TRT 2:00 hrs. With a thriving career in academia and a brilliant fiancé who dotes on her, grad student Calliope Girard seems to be well on the way to success. But her pleasant, orderly life is suddenly upended by a series of unexplained seizures which unlock memories of a much darker past...A past defined by violence, abuse, and manipulation, and occupied by a mysterious man she knew only as Billy.
Best Horror: “The Talk In The Night” – Director Christian Hanna, Santa Fe, TRT 14 min 21secs. After committing a heinous crime, a man has an encounter with the uncanny.
Best Music Video: “Hold On To You” – Director Justin Golightly, Albuquerque, TRT 3min 59 secs. A Stranger travels through a silent film dreamland to reunite with his love in the real world.
Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy: “The Last Transmission” – Director Stephen Turselli, Albuquerque, TRT 18 min. Based on a true story about a young Cessna pilot and an aging air traffic controller whose lives collide one fateful night in and over Roswell, New Mexico.
