Can’t Sleep - produced by Odd One Out Productions:
Money gained through a crime plays five people off each other in a web of vulnerabilities and opportunities, half-truths and lies, desires and dreams. Each character will end up quite opposite to how he or she starts out in the story..
Can’t Sleep is a "film noir" tinged drama - a series that will stretch over several seasons. First season will begin to shoot in May.
Matt, 20-40s, a calm, straight arrow guy who believes he is settling into a stable marriage with his lover Orion. He will be forced to discover many strengths and truths about himself as reality turns out to be quite something else.
Duchess, 20-40s, married to Kip but lover to Orion and closest to the crime that sets the whole story in motion. She knows how to play her assets and has a special charm She also knows people’s weaknesses and uses them to pull them into her plans and ambitions.
Rio, 30-60s. A decent fellow who was forced to flee to the US due to some dirty dealings at home. These have a domino effect on all that follows. The crime he devises to pay off all of his woes, catches up with him, so he has to depend on a couple of associates to keep his affairs moving forward.

Bailey 20-30s. African American, gay, he is smart and determined. Bailey has been in New York City for more than a decade and his return sets many things in motion.. He is the central character.
Exodus, 20-30s, Hispanic, handsome and charismatic, comes from a prominent New Mexican family who’s traditions he must uphold. He is now a conservative politician with great ambitions, but once he was Bailey’s lover.
Valentina, 40-60s, Hispanic. She is Exodus’ mother - the bright, elegant, ambitious matriarch of the Martinez family. She is a self-made woman and has plans for her beloved State and her beloved son.
Martin, 20-50s, is a successful, insightful lawyer and yet he is deeply insecure and secretly alcoholic. He is Bailey’s long-term lover. As a New Yorker, he is surprised to discover the currents that run through this group of old NM friends are much stronger than expected...
Wendall Winecoff, 20-50s. An outspoken and flamboyant talk show host. Those with deep dark secrets find him most uncomfortable because he has an unerring ability to hone in on these very aspects of people and situations. Capable of talking about even the most embarrassing subjects, he carries it all off with panache and honesty.
Debi, 20-30s, Hispanic, strong, street smart and fast talking, she grew up in Albuquerque’s South Valley. She is Bailey’s closest friend; has a big heart and the ability to see through any form of BS.
Aloni, 20-40s, socialite, Exodus’ trophy wife, a therapist and woman who has great ambitions. She plays out her supportive role with style and cunning patience…
Eric, 20-30s. He is pastor of his own Mega church. A solid, caring husband and father, he is closely associated to Exodus and is spiritual advisor to his political career.
Karla, 20-30s. She is Eric’s wife, mother of two, and Debi’s closest friend. She insists on walking the honest path between the needs of her family, the rules of religion and society - and the desires of her heart.
Al, 20-30s, all around easy going, good guy, He is Debi’s husband and he keeps up with her, debating, dancing and daring to make things happen. They have a fiery, fulfilling and loyal relationship.
Will, 20-30s: beer loving buddy to all, unmarried and unabashed. There's much more going on in his life than is apparent in his simple, friendly manner. He has the more conservative views than most of his BFFs, but often doesn’t let on.
