About: Los Metates Studios is excited to announce a casting call for our newest short film, the holiday action-comedy Operation White Elephant! Read on for more details:
THE FILM: In this slick action comedy, two rival agents are forced to go undercover at a suburban Christmas party in 1986 to stop an exchange between Russian sleeper agents, win a white elephant exchange, and possibly save the world.
MORE DETAILS: All roles in this film are unpaid, but we will provide food, IMDb credit, and reel material for all actors and actresses in the film!
WHEN: Filming dates are tentatively set for November 12-16 – evenings for November 12-15, and then during the day on November 16.
HOW TO APPLY:

- Shoot a self-tape audition video of you reading the audition side (nothing fancy, we just want to be able to see and hear you reading for the part).

CHARACTERS:
- SAM (female, 20s-30s) – Sam is an american agent used to working alone. She’s extremely skilled in combat, but has zero people skills. She hates parties almost as much as she hates being part of a team. (Role includes fight choreography)
- ROGER (male, 30s-70s) – The brains behind the operation. Roger is so very tired of dealing with agents who act like children, and would very much prefer to not start WWIII before Christmas.
- ELLIE (female, 7-12) – Ellie is a clever and suspicious kid at the christmas party who sticks to the rules of the game…If the rules involve explosives, and getting to use her marshmallow gun.
- MANDY (female, 20s-50s) – Mandy is a guest at the party who quickly sees through the American agent’s charade at pretending to be normal party goers.
- MIKE (male, 20s-40s) – Mike works at the local hospital. He and his wife, Felicia, are the hosts of the Christmas party, and have absolutely no clue that some of their friends are actually Russians in deep cover.
- FELICIA (female, 20s-40s) – Felicia is a kind and welcoming host who loves all things Christmas. But when things go haywire, her hostess skills are put to the test.
- KATE (female, 20s-40s) – Kate is an old college friend of Felicia’s…and also happens to be a Russian sleeper agent. Her mission is to get the package from another Russian agent at this Christmas party, and to stop anyone who gets in her way. (Must be able to do a Russian accent; role includes fight choreography)
- MILTON (male, 20s-40s) – Milton is the second Russian agent, who’s been instructed to drop the package with another Russian operative at the party. Little does he know that the Americans have sent in two of their own to intercept it. (Must be able to do a Russian accent; role includes fight choreography)
- SCOTT (male, 50s-70s) – Scott is a party guest who’s sort of an odd professor type. His specialty? Birds. Initially, Sam suspects Scott as being a Russian in deep cover.
- RUSSIAN EXTRACTION SQUAD (20s-40s) – The backup squad in case the deep cover agents fail; this squad of hitmen is sent in with non-lethal weapons to clean up the mess and hopefully avoid an international incident. (No lines, but these roles include fight choreography)
About: This is an independent short horror film so it will be a non-union/non paid role, but snacks and meals will be included and you will be given a copy for your portfolio/reel.

Character is a struggling alcoholic in recovery, about 6 months clean but keeps it all a secret. If submitting for this role feel free to take a photo dressed as how you think this character would look. Dark or monotone colored clothes, maybe baggier outfits, tired eyes, etc. or something totally different. We want to see what YOU would do with it. Have fun with it!

About: Hello! My name is RJ Torres. I am a Senior at the University of New Mexico. I am working on my senior capstone film. It is a short 10-minute western. I am looking for two male protagonists who can both ride horses. The main character who will have most of the dialogue is a Native American male who can ride a horse. Not picky about the age. The film is extremely dialogue heavy and mostly happens in real time, minus two bookending monologues summarizing what the relationship meant to each of them.
