The 10th Annual Taos Shortz Film Fest is our final edition and a Fare-Thee-Well celebration of our journey to serve the community with outstanding global short films, networking and a multitude of opportunities to access the cinematic arts in our great state of New Mexico.
Once again we will combine global cinema with the beauty of the high desert in Taos, New Mexico. The Taos Shortz Film Fest is a forum that unites short films and filmmakers with the community with the belief that films have the ability to change people's lives.
Voted "One of the 50 top US festivals worthy the entry fee" by Movie Maker Magazine two years in a row, we will continue, for our final year, the reputation as an innovative, cutting edge festival.
"Taos has long been recognized as having a robust, funky art community which is now drawing even more international attention by bringing a variety of outstanding global films through the Taos Shortz Film Festival . "Our films comprise of cutting edge provocative themes that create responses and awareness to our community that can change social views and consciousness. Short films are a response to our environment, the issues, happiness and circumstances we feel. Unlike features, the time they take to create emotes a type of spontaneity and thus more accessible " says Anna Cosentine, founder and executive director of TSFF. “It’s all about bringing our community in touch with what’s going on in the global indie shorts world. Our final year continues to serve our community in this way."'
Taos Shortz Film Fest will screen over 100 juried global short films from over 22 countries. Films are woven into 2 hour programs ( 10 to 12 short films in each) which include genres of Documentary, Drama, Comedy, Animation and "Out of the Ordinary". This "art" of programming is unique to our festival and takes the audience on a journey through time, cultures and belief systems.
