About: Hello, we’re currently casting for our Non-Union short film Cardboard Skies! A heartfelt drama that explores the harsh realities of homelessness and survival in Albuquerque. This story follows Ivy and her brother Theo when eviction leaves them living out of their car, and a run-in with their drug-addicted mother threatens to unravel the fragile life Ivy’s been fighting to hold together.
We are currently looking to fill the following roles:
Theo (Male, 12–15) – PAID ROLE
A quiet but emotionally resilient boy forced to grow up too fast after he and his sister are evicted. Despite the chaos around him, he still holds on to a childlike hope and deep love for his family.
Ivy (Female, 20–25) – Non-paid, compensated with meals, credit, and film copy. *Additional compensation may be discussed depending on budget and experience.
A young woman who is doing everything she can to protect and raise her little brother after losing their home. Tough, exhausted, and fiercely loving.
Rita (Female, 35–45) – Non-paid, compensated with meals, credit, and film copy.
Theo and Ivy’s estranged mother, a woman hardened by addiction and regret. A difficult but emotionally charged role with strong performance depth.
Santiago (Male, 25–40), Hispanic – Non-paid, compensated with meals, credit, and film copy.
The head chef of the diner where Ivy works. Rough around the edges but caring. Acts as a grounding figure in Ivy’s unstable world.
