Local filmmakers and cinephiles took part in the inaugural Taos Film Festival in late April.
The New Mexico Film Office participated in a public panel taking a look at how to make a movie, along with details on grant writing, funding options, working with the film offices, tax incentives and success stories. NMFO’s Rochelle Bussey and Denise Parras were available to discuss the film office’s role in helping bring film projects to the state.
During the festival, participants witnessed the opening of 7K Studios, located at the renovated former St. Francis Catholic School.
7K Studios plans will work with locals on projects shot at the studio and also shot in the wider community. The goal is to market Taos as a viable option for long term, sustainable production partnerships.
