'Pluribus' in the Emmy spotlight on Sept. 14
On Sept. 14, New Mexico was in the spotlight at the 78th Annual Emmy Awards.
The Vince Gilligan-created “Pluribus” – a Sony Pictures Television series that airs on Apple TV – was up up for 18 Emmy nominations. The nominations range from acting to behind the camera work.
The series picked up six Emmys, which included Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Rhea Seehorn and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for Gilligan.
On Sept. 6, the Creative Emmys were held in Los Angeles and "Pluribus" picked up four Emmys.
The New Mexico-filmed project picked up Emmys for Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series, Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, Outstanding Picture Editing For A Drama Series, Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Program.
New Mexican Ashley Michelle Marsh picked up the Emmy for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Program.
She posted on her Instagram, "We did it!!"
Location casting director Marie A.K. McMaster was nominated for Outstanding Casting For A Drama Series.
Though she didn't take home the Emmy, she was honored to earn a nomination.
NFMO caught up with McMaster at the ribbon cutting for CNM’s Media Arts Collective on Sept. 1.
“I’m a New Mexican and I like to keep the work that comes here with New Mexicans. I really am spoiled with the many projects I’ve been able to work on," she added.
