New Mexico Film Office Announces
“Drops of Water” to Begin Filming in New Mexico
SANTA FE, N.M. - Amber Dodson, the New Mexico State Film Office Director,
announced today that the documentary “Drops of Water: Lubomyr Melnyk and His
Continuous Music” will begin principal photography in September in and around
Albuquerque, NM.
Directed by John Luke Grubb of Good Point Productions (“Happy Birthday” “Wrong Guy”)
and produced by Carey Rose O’Connell of the Albuquerque Film & Media Incubator,
“Drops of Water” will capture pianist Lubomyr Melnyk’s essence and techniques, and is
the culmination of a lifetime of adoration for music and filmmaking.
John Luke Grubb said, “Beyond being a director, writer, and producer, I have always been
an avid music maker. My first love in music was the piano, and Lubomyr Melnyk has
always been my inspiration to keep playing.” He added that “Seeing a performance by
Lubomyr is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. As part of the Drops of Water documentary,
Lubomyr Melnyk will perform a special concert at Keller Hall on Saturday, September
25th. We invite the public to experience the magic of this one-of-a-kind pianist.”
