New Mexico Film Office Announces a Narrative Feature Film “3” Filming in New Mexico

Santa Fe, N.M. - New Mexico Film Office announced today that the narrative feature film, “3,” is filmed in and around Las Cruces during June.

"3” is directed by Peter Ney, known for “Straight up Steve Austin,” “Snack vs. Chef,” and “Food Network Stars” and is produced by native New Mexicans Sandra Steele Deerman and Patricia Dinges, as well as Parker Clark, John P. Aguirre (“Alien Code,” “The Utopian Society,” “Buddy Bear’s Musical Adventures”).

The production stars Anna Grace Barlow (“Jesus Revolution,” “The Big Leap,” “Blue Bloods”), Caleb Ruminer (“Finding Carter,” “The Irrational,” “Dirty John”), Oscar® nominee Eric Roberts (“Runaway Train,” “Star 80,” “King of the Gypsies”), and award-winning actor Michael Pare (“Eddie and the Cruisers,” “Streets of Fire,” “The Philadelphia Experiment,” and “The Virgin Suicides”).

Parker and Deerman began this film project in June 2022, when they helped create the short film. The film is a whirlwind romance, tragically comedic, and epically dramatic story about a man forced to fight his demons upon learning that he only has three days to live.

"I'm thrilled to embark on the journey of bringing the movie ‘3’ to life,” Deerman stated.

“This project holds a special place in my heart, as it offers audiences a glimpse into a world where the concept of time takes on an urgent and poignant significance,” Clark added. “The premise of discovering when you have only 72 hours to live is exhilarating and deeply thought-provoking. Through this film, we aim to explore the profound questions and emotions that arise when faced with the ultimate deadline. I believe ‘3’ can captivate and resonate with audiences, inviting them to reflect on life, love, and the preciousness of every moment. I can't wait to share this cinematic experience with the world."

"It is exciting to have an ambitious film like ‘3’ here in Las Cruces.,” Andrew Jara from Film Las Cruces stated. “Tiburon Films has been wonderful to work with, especially with many of our local cast and crew on the production.”

New Mexico's film industry continues to surge, shattering the $1 billion mark in total economic impact for 2024. Total economic impact includes direct production spending within the state, wages earned by cast and crew members, and indirect spending on hotels, restaurants, and countless other New Mexico businesses that support and benefit from the film industry.
