SANTA FE - The musical mockumentary “Maddi Saint Grace” filmed in and around Albuquerque, employing more than 35 New Mexicans and marking the directorial debut of screenwriter Ryan Dixon.
“Maddi Saint Grace” follows a tightly wound Christian pop star whose carefully curated world begins to unravel after she hires a chain-smoking, ex-punk producer to salvage her struggling new album. The film stars Jordana Lilly, Cheyenne Perez, Loren Hayes, and New Mexico actor Michael L. Miller.
Written and directed by Ryan Dixon, a veteran WGA screenwriter with credits including Disney, Amazon, and Universal, “Maddi Saint Grace” marks his feature directorial debut. The film is produced by Joshua Mauldin and Aaron Taylor.
"We are blown away by the film infrastructure here in New Mexico. There's almost nothing you can't do here that you can't anywhere else," the production stated. "Driving in from the I-40 East for location scouting, we knew immediately the scenic backdrop of the New Mexico hills would play an important role in bringing our story to life."
Producer Joshua Mauldin added, "We're excited to take advantage of all the wonderful talent in New Mexico, as well as feature the incredible beauty of the state."
The production employed more than 35 New Mexicans across crew, principal cast, and background roles, supporting Albuquerque’s creative economy throughout its filming schedule.
