The New Mexico Film Office Announces Feature Film “Olmo” Wraps Production in New Mexico
Santa Fe, N.M. - New Mexico Film Office Director Amber Dodson announced today that the feature film “Olmo” wrapped filming in and around Las Cruces in November.
“Olmo” is produced by Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Eréndira Núñez Larios (“New Order”), directed by Fernando Eimbcke (“Duck Season”), and features the talents of Gustavo Sánchez Parra (“Amores Perros”) and Andrea Suarez Paz (“Stand Clear of the Closing Doors”). “Olmo” is about a fourteen-year-old who must care for his bedridden father with multiple sclerosis, but when his neighbor, Nina Sandoval, invites him to a party, his world is turned upside down.
"We are very excited to have ‘Olmo’ filmed in Las Cruces. The film showcases our diverse, amazing locations and the rich culture within our community,” Las Cruces Film Liaison Andrew Jara stated.
The production employed over 100 New Mexicans – approximately 80 as background talent, 40 resident crew members, and 12 principal actors.
