New Mexico Film Office Announces Short Film “The Alibi” Wraps Production

Santa Fe, N.M. - The New Mexico Film Office announced today that the short film, “The Alibi,” wrapped filming in June, in and around Las Vegas, N.M.

“After seeing Las Vegas, our team knew we had to film in this beautiful town,” Line Producer Terry Futschik said. “This was an easy choice for us.”

Directed by David Chrzanowski and produced by Allison Sanchez. “The Alibi” stars Brendan Fehr (“Roswell”) and Piper De Palma (“The Daphne Project”). The short film is a coming-of-age story about a ten-year-old boy whose life is changed when his father decides to run an errand for the family business, set at a dive bar in Detroit in the 1980s.

“In many ways, ‘The Alibi’ is a love letter to my dad,” Chrzanowski said. “Now that I am a father, I want to share the many fruits he gave me with my kids, including kindness, enduring love, and the portrait of a family that is doing their best.”

The production employed approximately 14 New Mexico crew members, 3 New Mexico principal actors, and 15 New Mexico background talent.
