New Mexico Film Office Announces Short Narrative Film, “This is the End of Us,” Wraps Filming in New Mexico

SANTA FE, N.M. - New Mexico State Film Office Director Amber Dodson announced today that the short narrative film, “This is the End of Us,” has wrapped filming in and around Albuquerque.

The film is directed by Rochelle Fetters (“Breathe”) and produced by Amber LeRae Earls (“The Punishment”). “This is the End of Us” is executive produced by Susan Cowsill (“Billy and Sid…A Background Story”), along with associate producer Trine Christensen (“Maria Morte”) and the director of photography is Daniel Zollinger (“Big Sky”). Oscar Avila (“Sicario 2”) stars alongside Tori Lane Ross (“On the Line”) to tell the story of Jorge and Kate. When Jorge is at his lowest point and finds the highest place from which to jump, he sees Kate is already there.

This is Fetters’ and Earls’ second collaboration. The first was the film "Breathe," which screened at several film festivals and won "Best New Mexico Produced Short" at the Santa Fe Film Festival in 2022.

“We hope that our audience will walk away with more empathy and hope for others who are struggling, and themselves,” Fetters said. “We are so honored by our film community's support and look forward to showcasing the talent and beauty here in New Mexico.”

The production will employ approximately 22 crew members.
