Alison Sweeney’s ‘Hope Ranch’ films in Ruidoso
The production hired more than 90 New Mexicans; utilized the state’s 10% Rural Uplift
SANTA FE - The TV movie, “Hope Ranch,” produced by and starring Alison Sweeney, employed more than 90 New Mexicans while filming in Ruidoso in September.
“Hope Ranch” follows Hope Morgan, who, after a pivotal life change, returns to the New Mexico ranch where she grew up in search of a simpler, more meaningful life. As she restores the property and revives a community gala, Hope confronts unresolved parts of her past, including an ex-fiancé determined to reconnect. Starring Alison Sweeney (“Days of Our Lives”), Gabriel Hogan (“Tacoma FD”), Scott Martin (“Exit Protocol”), and Stephanie Beran (“Fatal Call”), the film centers on themes of renewal and community.
The story’s focus on community and renewal aligned with Ruidoso’s setting and mountain landscape. Directed by Tailiah Breon (“Can You Feel the Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story”) and executive produced by Alison Sweeney, Craig Baumgarten (“Universal Soldier”), and Michael Slifkin (“You Gotta Believe”), the film employed more than 90 New Mexicans across crew, principal cast, and background roles. The production utilized New Mexico’s 10% Rural Uplift, supporting filming in communities outside the state’s primary production hubs.
“We are so excited to bring another movie back to New Mexico,” Martin stated. “We have had great experiences, the crews have been fantastic, and the town of Ruidoso is incredibly welcoming. The beautiful locations around Ruidoso are the perfect backdrop for this fun romcom.”
“Ruidoso’s community has shown incredible resilience, and we’re proud that ‘Hope Ranch’ is bringing jobs and positive economic activity to the area,” said Steve Graham, director of the New Mexico Film Office. “This project is a strong example of the value of our 10% Rural Uplift, which continues to attract impactful productions and create opportunities across New Mexico’s rural communities.”
