Nashville artist Struggle Jennings films western-themed music video series in New Mexico
Music video mini-series supports local workforce training
A music video mini-series for Nashville recording artist Struggle Jennings, filmed in and around Santa Fe in September, created jobs for more than 50 New Mexicans and supported hands-on workforce training for emerging film professionals.
The project includes six narrative and performance-based music tracks, using a small western town as the backdrop for Jennings’s upcoming album. The series is produced by Darkroad Pictures, directed by Andrei Laponiak (“Night of Blood”) and led by a New Mexico-based team including Mando Hernandez, Candice Neu (“Love in the Clouds”), and Tamas Nadas (“Boneyard”).
The production partnered with Katharsis Media to provide on-the-job training for local film interns and apprentices. The initiative offered emerging New Mexico professionals firsthand experience on a professional commercial set, supporting career readiness and the state’s creative workforce.
"This music video series is a perfect example of how New Mexico supports diverse content creators, from feature films to ambitious digital media projects," said Director of the New Mexico Film Office Steve Graham. "We are incredibly proud to see productions not only hiring experienced New Mexicans, but actively partnering with groups like Katharsis Media to train the next generation. This commitment to local workforce development is what ensures the long-term sustainability of our industry."
The music video series will be released alongside Struggle Jennings’s upcoming album. The Nashville-based artist is known for previous projects, including “The Day of Reckoning” (2025) and “Love Won” (2018).
