Feature film ‘The Running Woman’ wraps, highlighting New Mexico’s VFX expertise

SANTA FE - The feature film “The Running Woman” wrapped production, employing more than 45 New Mexicans and drawing on local expertise in specialized production design and visual effects.
In a future where society is immersed in virtual reality entertainment through ubiquitous “VT” devices, the film centers on “Last Woman Standing,” a deadly game show in which six women compete for the ultimate prize.
Produced by Brooks Pipher, Alan Trever, Tim Pipher, and Kat Bloom, the film employed more than 45 New Mexicans across crew and talent roles, drawing on the state’s skilled creative workforce.
“The success of ‘The Running Woman’ is a clear signal to the industry that New Mexico is fully equipped to handle projects that push creative and technical boundaries,” said Steve Graham, director of the New Mexico Film Office. “We have the dedicated crew base, the specialized production facilities, and the necessary infrastructure to support complex VFX and imaginative world-building, making us an ideal choice for high-concept science fiction and fantasy filmmaking.”
