‘Redhawk’ Wraps Production in Farmington, Powered by Local Support and Talent

SANTA FE - “Redhawk,” the high-stakes thriller, set in a world where a rare gene grants super-powered heroes, found its perfect home and its greatest support system in the small-town community of Farmington, hiring over 30 New Mexicans.

The film, co-directed by Gareth West (who also stars) and Sahvannah Rae, tells the story of Jason Mallory, who attempts to become the nation's first hero without powers. He investigates a series of kidnappings and a grand conspiracy, all while his sister Leah investigates a related medical center collapse. The film features Scott William Winters (“Good Will Hunting”) and Mike Edward (“Ash vs Evil Dead”). It is grounded by New Mexico’s own Jeremy ReoNason and West.

The production team singled out the extraordinary collaboration they received from the city.

"The outpour of support from the community has been tremendous,” West stated. “We've had close ties in the area for a long time, and the city has always been super supportive of our efforts, such as back when I produced the film ‘Red Rising: A Power Rangers Fan Film,’ which was also filmed in Farmington a few years ago. The Civic Center, the Four Corners Musical Theatre Company, and many, many others have been instrumental in making this logistically possible, and we're so happy to be able to bring more movies to Farmington!"
