Local filmmakers wrap feature film “No Place”

The feature film “No Place” wrapped production in and around Albuquerque, Corrales, Moriarty, Mountainair, and Bernalillo in June. The independent drama, which explores themes of survival, hope, and connection, showcases the strength and professionalism of New Mexico's homegrown film community.

“No Place” stands as a powerful showcase for the deep pool of homegrown talent and expertise in New Mexico. Directed by the highly accomplished Holly Adams (“Shadows of Waste”), a filmmaker with over fifteen years of experience, and produced by New Mexico’s own Jason Wolf (‘The Other Side of Infinity”) and Shayne Hartigan (‘Belle”).

The film stars a cast of local principal talent, including Paris Maese (“The Really Loud House”) and Phoenix Zito (“Bang Bang Betty: Valerie's Revenge”). “No Place” tells the story of 15-year-old Willow and 17-year-old Joe, two teens on the run from abusive pasts, who meet and flee west. Disguising themselves as newlyweds, they find unexpected kinship and hope for a shared future. Their journey reveals the profound resilience of life and that the home they sought was within their bond.

“This powerful story, with its themes of resilience and human connection, was brought to life entirely by New Mexico's exceptional talent pool,” said Steve Graham, New Mexico Film Office director. “Productions like this are a shining example of the world-class skill and passion that our state's incredibly talented local crews and above-the-line talent bring to the table, demonstrating the full potential of New Mexico's film industry.”

“Our incredible cast and crew all call New Mexico home, and we are passionate about upholding our State’s coveted reputation as the best place to film in the country,” Wolf stated. “Our talented writer/director, Holly Adams, has crafted an engaging, thrilling, and emotional story that we’re excited to bring to life and share with you.”

The production employed over 150 New Mexico residents, including 30 local crew members, 22 principal actors, and 100 background talent.
