Supernatural short film ‘In Between’ wraps production in Gallup

SANTA FE - The short film, “In Between,” wrapped filming after filming in and around Gallup.

The production employed 15 New Mexico crew members and five New Mexico principal actors, including DezBaa’ (“Dark Winds,” “When You Finish Saving the World”), Ryan Begay (“Dark Winds,” “Breaking Bad”), Addyson Wolfe (“Primo,” “Tipping Point”), Nya Eteeyan (“Django,” “Dogwood”) and Robert Severn Ayers as Ezra.

Written and directed by Brent Morris (“Made in New Mexico”), the short film is produced by Goldie Tom (“Cleaning is a Cakewalk”), director of photography is James Kwan (“Sunlight”), the editor is Ryan Denmark (“Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy”) and Jennifer Schwalenberg (“Dark Winds”) served as casting director.

The film depicts a supernatural encounter between a boy and his mother from Philadelphia and a family in Gallup he believes was his in a past life. It is based upon material Morris researched for a full-length feature film entitled “Five,” in the works for 2027.

“The unique, diverse cultural perspectives here enhance storytelling on a personal level. It is such a joy to do creative work in the vast landscape here and I’m grateful to have found support from the local community,” said Brent Morris.
