New Mexico Film Office Announces Production of Five Feature Films Showcase the Santa Fe Opera’s 2024 Season

Santa Fe, NM – The New Mexico State Film Office announced today the productions of five feature films showcasing the Santa Fe Opera’s 2024 Season.

The productions have employed approximately 238 New Mexico crew members and 30 resident background artists.

Directed by Jesse Fisher, filming occurred from July 30 through August 9. Public screenings begin with an “Opera in the Park” viewing of “The Elixir of Love” at the Santa Fe Railyard Park on September 15 at 4 p.m. More information can be found at https://www.santafeopera.org/whats-on/opera-in-the-park-2024.

Film titles include Donizetti’s “The Elixir of Love,” Gregory Spears and Tracy K. Smith’s “The Righteous,” Mozart’s “Don Giovanni,” Verdi’s “La Traviata,” and in a nod to the artistic legacy of Santa Fe Opera founder John Crosby, Richard Strauss’s “Der Rosenkavalier.
